RBI Assistant 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who are willing to apply for the RBI Assistant 2026 Exam must check the detailed eligibility criteria before submitting their applications. Only the candidates who meet the required eligibility will have their applications accepted and will be eligible for this exam.
Educational Qualification (as on 01/02/2026)
A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) and above in any discipline to be eligible for the RBI Assistant 2026 Exam. He/She must hold knowledge of computers as well as have proficiency in the official language of the concerned state or Union Territory.

As per the revised RBI Assistant Salary Structure 2026, the starting basic pay of the RBI Assistant profile is INR 29,000/-, which eventually increases with experience. RBI Assistant Pay Scale – Perks and Allowances
The perks and allowances provided to an RBI Assistant are an added advantage to the RBI Assistant salary. The allowances provided to an RBI Assistant are given below:

RBI Assistant Pay Scale – Career Growth
- Candidates who have been posted as RBI Assistant will get multiple chances to get promoted to higher levels.
- To get promoted to the officer level, one has to give service for a minimum of 2 years to complete a bond period of a minimum of 2 years.
- After that, they have to apply and appear for the promotion test.
- There are two processes for an RBI assistant to get promoted to a Grade A officer level.
- Normal process: In this process, candidates have to qualify for the written test, and based on their experience or seniority in the bank services, he/she will be selected as an officer
- Merit-basis process: Candidates have to render a minimum of 2 years of service as an RBI Assistant with a JAIIB and CAIIB diploma conducted by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is compulsory with a graduation degree.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT) 2026
The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). RBI Assistant Cut-off Marks
The cut-off marks for Assistant posts are released as: Sectional cut-off, overall cut-off, and zone-wise cut-off.
1. Sectional Cut-off for RBI Office Attendant: Candidates need to qualify in each section of the written exam. The candidates who do not score more than the cutoff of any of the sections will not be considered qualified for the Language Proficiency Test.
2. Overall Cutoff of RBI Office Attendant: As per the RBI Attendant Cutoff, candidates have to score more than the overall cutoff. If any candidate manages to clear the sectional cut-off of each section but fails to clear the overall cutoff, then also the candidature will not be considered
3. Zone-wise cut-off for RBI Office Attendant: The candidates need to score more than the zone-wise cut-off for online examination (Mains & Preliminary).
