  1. Probationary Officers (PO) – 1500 Posts

Catagory Wise Regular Vacancies

  • SC – 216 Posts 
  • ST – 108 Posts 
  • OBC – 390 Posts 
  • EWS – 144 Posts 
  • UR – 588 Posts 

Backlog Vacancies 

  • SC – 18 Posts 
  • ST – 36 Posts 
  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. 
  • Those who are in the Final Year/ FinalSemester of their Degree may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for Personal Interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Degree examination on or before 30.09.2026. 
  • Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 30.09.2026. 
  • Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical Graduates, Engineering Graduates, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant etc. would also be eligible.

Number Of Chances:

  • UR (PwBD) / EWS (PwBD) / OBC / OBC (PwBD) – 
  • SC / SC (PwBD)/ ST / ST (PwBD) – No Restriction
  • Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of permissible chances are not eligible to apply.
  1. Probationary Officers (PO) – Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2026 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2005 and not earlier than 02.04.1996 (both days inclusive).

Relaxation of Upper age limit: 

  • +5 Years for ST/SC  
  • +3 Years for OBC (NCL)  
  • Persons with Disabilities candidate:
    • +10 Years for UR  
    • +13 Years for OBC (NCL)  
    • +15 Years for ST/SC
  • For Ex-Servicemen Applicants: As per Govt. Policy

Method of Selection for SBI:

  • Phase-I: Online Preliminary Examination 
  • Phase-II: Online Main Examination 
  • Phase-III: Psychometric Test, Group Exercises & Interview

With 1,500 vacancies, SBI PO 2026 is one of the biggest banking opportunities in recent years, and many banking aspirants are discussing that the increased vacancy count could improve selection chances compared to some recent cycles.
