RRB JE Nationality Criteria
A candidate must be one of the following:
- An Indian citizen
- A citizen of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, intending to permanently settle here
- An Indian-origin person who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, & East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), intending to permanently settle in India.

The Selection Process of CEN No. 04/2026 consists of four stages: CBT 1, CBT 2, Document Verification (DV), & Medical Examination. The final merit list is prepared based on candidates’ performance in the CBT 2 exam. The detailed RRB JE Selection Process 2026 is described below:

The RRB JE application form involves a 5-step process on the portal. Which are as follows:

Step 1: One-Time Registration & Aadhaar Verification
- Visit rrbapply.gov.in. Click on Apply and Create an Account.
- Fill in basic personal details (Name, DOB, Mobile Number, Email ID matching Class 10 certificate).
- Complete Aadhaar OTP Verification to generate your permanent Registration ID.
Step 2: Select Zone, Discipline & Preferences
- Log in using your credentials.
- Select your target RRB Zone, such as RRB Mumbai, Prayagraj, Ajmer.
- Select your engineering branch (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, S&T, etc.) and set post preferences (JE, DMS, CMA).
Step 3: Fill Details & Preferences
- Fill in educational qualifications, category, and preferred exam language.
- Enter Bank Account Details (Account No. & IFSC Code) to receive the CBT 1 fee refund.
Step 4: Upload Media & Documents
- Capture a clear photo via webcam/mobile camera on a plain background.
- Upload a scanned signature on white paper with black ink (JPEG format, 30–50 KB).
- SC/ST candidates must upload community certificates (PDF, up to 400 KB) for free rail travel passes.
Step 5: Fee Payment & Final Submission
- Pay the application fee (₹500 for UR/OBC/EWS & ₹250 for SC/ST/PwBD/Female/Ex-SM) via Net Banking, Card, or UPI.

Terms of Fee Refund

- To receive the refund successfully, candidates must confirm that their bank account information is accurate.
Documents Required for RRB JE Application Form 2026

As per the RRB application guidelines, the candidate’s signature must be uploaded in the prescribed format.
