Selection Process for IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026

The Selection Process involves two stages: Prelims and Mains. On the other hand, the IBPS PO or Officer Scale I examination involves three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interviews. As for the IBPS Officer Grade II (General Banking Officer and Specialist Cadre) and III, there is a single-window exam known as the IBPS Officer Grade II Exam, followed by an Interview. To secure a position in any of these posts, candidates must successfully clear each stage of the respective examinations.

IBPS RRB 2026 Exam Pattern

As you know the IBPS RRB recruits candidates for two posts, i.e. Office Assistant/Clerk and Officer Scale. Therefore, the exam process is different for each of the exams.

The IBPS RRB Office Assistant have only Prelims and Mains and there is no interview. Selection will be made purely on the marks obtained by the candidate in his/her Mains Examination.

The IBPS RRB PO Exam have Prelims, Mains, and Interview stages, but merit is prepared based on marks in Mains and Interview stages only. The Prelims pattern of Office Assistant and PO is the same.

There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response marked by the candidate. The test will be objective in nature.

The IBPS RRB Officer Scale 2 and 3 exam have only a Single exam and an Interview. The single online exam is nearly the same as the  IBPS RRB PO Mains exam.

There are only two sections in the IBPS RRB PO and Clerk Prelims Exam pattern: Numerical Ability and Reasoning:

The IBPS RRB 2026 Cut Off is the minimum marks to be secured by the candidates in order to qualify the exam. It is released within a week of the result announcement.
